Barbican Stories was taking donations for a second print run of the book for distribution to archives, public records and libraries. As of 29 September 2021, we have met our target. We will not be taking any more donations.

Thank you to the individuals, collectives and organisations who have contributed!

Our fundraising goal was £3100. We welcomed donations from everyone, but particularly from people who have not experienced racism. As of 29 September 2021, we have met our target. The funds raised will go towards the printing of 100 copies of the book which will be distributed to archives, public records and libraries in London, the UK, and internationally (with each venue receiving 1-2 copies). This will include purchasing an ISBN for the book so it is acquired by the British Library and others.

The physical book will not be for sale. However, if you know of a library or archive that you’d like the book to be donated to, let us know; or if you run or are the administrator of an archive or library who would like to acquire Barbican Stories please fill in the form here: https://forms.gle/z6gu26HA8pbY9ACb6

We believe it should be the Barbican’s responsibility to provide care to all their employees of global ethnic majorities. We will use some of the funds raised to cover the cost of a session of facilitated group counselling for the people of global ethnic majorities involved in creating this book throughout the period of June 2020 - June 2021.

Funds will also cover costs from the first print run as well as the cost of the website and domain for one additional year, until May 2023.

Breakdown of our budget:

  • Printing (100 copies): £758

  • ISBN: £89

  • Postage (including packaging): £515

  • Facilitated counselling session: £1500

  • Website and domain costs: £146

  • Costs from first print run: £92

Total: £3100

Thank you for supporting Barbican Stories!
